Somali Women Chamber of Commerce & Industrialization SWCC

The Somali Women Chamber of Commerce and Industrialization is a non-profit organization founded in October 2019. After 30 years of civil war, Somali Women decided to create a platform to raise their voices for women entrepreneurs. Somali Women are proving to be an effective means of supporting the grassroots level a network and a voice to start closing the gender participation gap in the Somali economy.

The Somali Women Chamber of Commerce & Industrialization strives to improve the general conditions in which businesses operate, emphasizing the importance of businesswomen and women entrepreneurs to facilitate access to international markets.

Women are vital to democratic development and economic growth; however, as a result, women are determined to participate fully in their countries’ development and join forces to strive to expand economic opportunities for all women.

SWCC&I are prime examples of such organizations, as they foster the economic participation of women by working to establish an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
